Moon Garden is a discreet building — you catch the sign before you catch the hotel — along a busy road at the southern end of the old town, by the Gate of Dawn and a short walk from the station. That puts it on the seam between two sides of Vilnius: the unfiltered everyday city around the station and the market halls on one side, the medieval old town on the other. Inside it reads as a small, personal hotel straight away — only twenty rooms, and a warm, generous welcome. The room is brighter and more spacious than the outside suggests: light from the windows, a high ceiling, pale and simple furnishings, nothing competing for your attention. It gives you a Vilnius you can move through in both directions — small, personal, and easy to land in, with the whole city reachable from one point.

It does everything simply and stays out of the way, so the city can take the lead.

Hotel Vilnia is in the old-town core, opposite the Bernardine Garden — well-kept and quietly ambitious, a building that belongs to its surroundings rather than standing apart from them, the calm of the park seeming to carry right into the hotel. The entrance and reception are spacious and welcoming — bright and easy, the kind of place you feel at home in straight away. The room is on the top floor, with large skylights opening onto sky, rooftops and church towers — no traffic, just an airy, open feeling with the old town spread out below. It gives you the calm heart of the old town: the park right outside the door, the cathedral and Pilies Street just around the corner — quiet and central at the same time.
